Accessibility Statement
Effective: April 17, 2026 · Operator: Lesson of the Day, PBC
Our Commitment
Lesson of the Day, PBC is committed to ensuring The Daily Lesson is accessible to all learners, including people with disabilities. Education is a human right — not just for people who can see a screen the way we designed it.
Standards
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Our accessibility efforts include:
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are keyboard accessible. Skip-link provided on every page.
- Screen reader support: Semantic HTML, ARIA labels on interactive controls, and meaningful alt text.
- Focus indicators: Visible focus outlines (
:focus-visible) on all interactive elements. - Reduced motion:
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query disables animations site-wide. - Color contrast: Text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios against backgrounds.
- Typography: Responsive font sizing via
clamp(). No text below 14px. - Form accessibility: All form inputs have associated labels. Error messages are programmatically associated with inputs.
- Live class captions: Real-time captions in the learner's language during all live classes.
- RTL support: Full right-to-left layout for Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, and Hebrew using CSS logical properties.
Known Limitations
We are actively working on:
- Automated WCAG testing across all 365 lesson pages
- Screen reader testing for live class interfaces
- Audio descriptions for visual content in lessons
