Justice is the idea and practice of treating people fairly, giving them what they deserve, and following laws that are right and equal. It also refers to the legal system that tries to do this.

Etymology

From Old French “justice”, from Latin “iustitia” meaning “righteousness, equity”, from “iustus” (just, fair). It has always mixed moral goodness with legal order.
