A journey is a trip from one place to another, especially one that takes a long time. It can also mean the long process of change or growth in someone’s life.

Etymology

From Old French “jornee” meaning a day’s travel or a day’s work, from Latin “diurnum” meaning “day”. Over time, the idea shifted from what you do in a day to the longer trip itself.
